Daily Fantasy Golf DraftKings Picks (PGA DFS): Valspar Championship

Adam Scott did it again. He won his second tournament in a row holding off Bubba Watson by one stroke.

My top pick, Dustin Johnson, was right up there heading into Sunday, but shot a final round 79. Sound like a familiar story? Well, yeah. Johnson is known to blow up on Sunday so it shouldn't be all that surprising that it happened yet again. Johnson ended up finishing 2-under, T14. My other picks; Henrik Stenson, 2-over, T28, J.B. Holmes, 13-over, 59th, Brandt Snekder, withdrew, Bill Haas, 8-over, T49, Harris English, 4-under, 10th, Ross Fisher, 6-over, T42, Daniel Berger, 2-over, T28.

The PGA Tour heads to Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, FL, to play the Copperhead course. The course is a par 71, 7,340 yards long. Jordan Spieth is the defending champion.

PGA Stats To Look At for Daily Fantasy Golf (DFS)

Stats and research for this tournament can be found at this site, The Fantasy Golf. I will be using those stats and recent history for the following two sections.

Bogey Avoidance

Strokes Gained: Putting

Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green

Fantasy Golf Lineup Picks for DraftKings (PGA DFS)

Louis Oosthuizen ($10,600)

Oosthuizen's form has been great in recent weeks. He finished T14 last week at Doral and shot a 2-under for the tournament. He won the ISPS HANDA Perth International two weeks ago and finished T12 at the Maybank Championship Malaysia a week before that.

Jason Dufner ($9,400)

He had a great outing last weekend shooting 3-under and finishing T11th. He is 20-under the past five years combined at this tournament, with five consecutive top 30 finishes. His best finish was 10th in 2012. He is T118th in bogey avoidance, 178th in SG:P, and 28th in T2G. I wouldn't worry so much about his putting as I expect him to continue his strong play from Doral to this week.

Webb Simpson ($8,900)

Webb has had the best score in SG:P and T2G combined in the past five years. He's also had the best score in the past five years combined, 22-under. His results from previous years are great; DNP in 2015, cut in 2014, T17, T10, and runner-up. He is 4th in bogey avoidance, 169th in SG:P, and 13th in T2G. He has finished in the top 20 in his last three tournaments, Sony Open T13, CareerBuilder, T17, and Phoenix Open T14.

Gary Woodland ($8,400)

He's 121st in bogey avoidance, 118th in SG:P, and 12th in T2G. His T8 finish in 2014 was sandwiched with cuts, he finished T29 in 2012 and won the championship in 2011. He has yet to miss a cut all year, and his best finish was at the Sony Open, T13th, his worst, finishing T61 at the Honda Classic.

Luke Donald ($8,300)

He's had consecutive fourth place finishes in 2013 and 2014, and won this tournament in 2012. He is 20-under in the past five years combined. Donald is 32nd in bogey avoidance, 142nd in SG:P, and 37th in T2G. He bounced back after getting cut at the CareerBuilder, T26 at Pebble Beach, T45 at the Northern Trust, and T61 at Honda Classic.

Kevin Streelman ($8,200)

Streelman has made the cut the past four years, finishing 40th last year, 38th the year before, winning in 2013 and finishing 10th in 2012. He is 46th in bogey avoidance, 158th in SG:P, and 19th in T2G. Streelman has been playing great in 2016; T11 at the CareerBuilder, 3rd at the Farmers Insurance, cut at Phoenix Open, and T17 at Pebble Beach.

John Senden ($7,200)

Although he was cut last year, he has been the best in T2G in the past five years on this course. He is 131st in bogey avoidance, 93rd in SG:P, and 98th in SG:T2G. He won this tournament two years ago, was cut in 2013, T38 in 2012, T15 in 2011, and T28 in 2010. He bounced back at the Honda Classic, T10, after being cut at the Northern Trust and Phoenix Open.

Cameron Tringale ($7,000)

This will be my first time ever picking him. He finished 17th last year, 25th in 2014, 3rd in 2013, 46th in 2012, and missed the cut in 2011. He is 77th in bogey avoidance, 60th in SG:P, and T117th in T2G. Since finishing T14 at the CareerBuilder he was cut at the Farmers Insurance, Phoenix Open, and Honda Classic. Look for him to turn around his play on a course where he's had success in recent years.

Vaughn Taylor ($6,500)

He won at Pebble Beach in early February, but followed that up by getting cut at the Northern Trust. He is 44th in bogey avoidance, 54th in SG:P, and 9th in T2G. He last played at this tournament in 2011 where he was cut. With his extended layoff since the Northern Trust, I expect him to have a good weekend and make the cut.
