Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (6/28/17): MLB DFS Advice for FanDuel and DraftKings

Tom Vecchio's DraftKings analysis and advice. The top MLB DFS lineup picks on for 6/28/17, as well as a couple of sleepers for daily fantasy baseball rosters.

We have a 13 game main slate on this hump day, with plenty of options all across the board. There are some big name arms on the mound that you will need to spend up for, so that means a bit of value can help you build your roster. As of now, there are no major weather concerns.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/28/2017. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options, and of course, value plays.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider

Marcus Stroman - P, vs BAL (DK - $9,000, FD - $8,400)

Stroman is a bit cheaper than Strasburg on both sites, and is in a pretty good spot. He is coming off a bad game where he gave up seven earned runs, but in his four starts prior to that game, he gave up two earned runs or less in three of those games. He pitches deep into games, and know how to limit the damage. Stroman has five or more strikeouts in seven of his last eight starts. He is a cheaper cash game option, that has good consistency.

Ivan Nova - P, vs TAM (DK - $6,400, FD - $8,100)

Nova is much cheaper on DraftKings tonight, and has a solid match up in front of him. He is up against the Rays who have a 25% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitching, which is second worst in the entire league. If you are looking for a tournament option, Nova is a great spot to look. This game is in Pittsburgh, which plays as a pitchers park, so there are a few factors going in his favor, which puts him in a good spot with solid upside.

DFS Infielders to Consider

Alex Avila - C, vs KAN (DK - $3,900, FD - $2,800)

Avila has some big time power numbers this season vs right-handed pitching, and any time he has this match up, you should consider rostering him. This season he has a .457 wOBA and a .301 ISO vs RHP. Elite numbers, and with his price under $3K on FanDuel, he is viable for all types of contests.

Justin Smoak - 1B, vs BAL (DK - $4,300, FD - $3,500)

The Smoak monster is generally one of the better options at first base this season, as he has power upside for tournaments, and good numbers vs both types of pitchers. His match up tonight is vs a LHP, and this season he has a .443 wOBA and a .223 ISO against them. In a good hitters park, Smoak can be used in all formats.

Whit Merrifield - 2B, @ DET (DK - $3,700, FD - $2,800)

Merrifield is up against Daneil Norris, who many consider to be a gas can, a pitcher you want to stack against. Merrifield isn't too expensive, and he comes into this game with a .341 wOBA and a .356 OBP vs left-handed pitching this season. He also has a bit of stolen base upside, which is always nice for tournaments.

Justin Turner - 3B, @ LAA (DK - $4,700, FD - $3,600)

Turner had the day off last night, so he should be set to return to the starting lineup tonight. Turner is one of the most consistent options for third base this year, and he gives you exposure to the always powerful Dodgers offense. He comes into this game with a .418 wOBA and a .463 OBP vs right-handed pitching this season.

Ronald Torreyes - SS, @ CWS (DK - $2,700, FD - $2,100)

With Starlin Castro going on the DL, Torreyes is going to see more playing time. He is super cheap on both sites, and gives you some exposure to the Yankees offense. This season he has a .456 wOBA and a .526 AVG vs left-handed pitching. Take the savings, and fit in a top pitcher.

DFS Outfielders to Consider

Gregor Blanco - OF, vs STL (DK - $3,800, FD - $2,700)

Blanco has big time splits vs pitchers this year, and is really only an option when he is facing a right-handed pitcher, as he is tonight. This season vs RHP, he has a .365 wOBA and a .402 OBP. He is real cheap on FanDuel and gets you some exposure to one of the best offense in the majors, at a big time hitters park.

Mookie Betts - OF, vs MIN (DK - $5,000, FD - $3,900)

Betts is generally one of the better options at outfield, and tonight he is at home in a hitters park vs a bad pitcher. Betts has a .520 wOBA and a .333 ISO this season when at home vs a left-handed pitcher. Huge numbers for the young star, and even though he is expensive, try to fit him into as many lineups as you can.

Nomar Mazara - OF, @ CLE (DK - $4,200, FD - $3,400)

Mazara may be against a big name pitcher tonight, but he has power upside vs right-handed pitching, and makes a great one off in GPPs. This season vs RHP, he has a .341 wOBA and a .197 ISO. He is at at hitters park, and should come in lower owned, just due to the heavy pitching favorite he is against.
