BALLER MOVE: Add in 10+Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 33% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Not a lot has changed in the two weeks since the Panthers traded Christian McCaffrey away, leading to their backfield entering an RBBC status with both D'Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard featuring as part of it. As we already highlighted in our reaction right after the trade, the expectations were to have Foreman getting the bulk of the rush attempts and Hubbard being more active on pass plays.
That has been the case – when Hubbard has been on the field, of course. Hubbard played in the game played immediately after the trade (W7) but has been out ever since. He put up a solid 2-of-3 for 10 yards receiving, 9-carry, 63-yard, one TD rushing outing against Tampa back then but we have yet to see him again.
This past Sunday, Hubbard missed the game against Cincy with an ankle injury but given how Carolina has schemed plays and has used Foreman –or, perhaps better said, not used him – it is fair to assume Hubbard will get a lot of pass-play action once he's back available.
Foreman has gotten two, one, and three targets in the past three weeks while only catching four of those loos for 25 yards. That sounds low-but-reasonable until you look at the details and find out he actually went 2-for-2 for 27 yards in Week 7 only to then go 0-of-2 in W8 and 2-of-3 for minus-2 yards last Sunday.
Feel free to add Hubbard off your league's WW knowing that 1) he's a better target on PPR formats and 2) he will still have to find his way toward fantasy relevance via pass plays with Foreman still looking like the stronger rusher (at least on Carolina's playbook).
