ROSTERED IN: 3% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Chris Rodriguez Jr. was limited to 14 carries and 61 rushing yards from Week 1-10. However, he has now accumulated 37 rushing attempts and 186 rushing yards since Week 11, while also averaging 5.0 yards per attempt.
That includes his numbers since Week 15 as Rodriguez Jr. has led the Commanders with 10 rushing attempts in each of the team’s last two contests. Brian Robinson Jr. has been affixed to the sideline during that sequence due to his troublesome hamstring.
That has elevated Rodriguez Jr. into an expanded role, as he has also paced the backfield with 93 yards.
That includes Rodriquez Jr.’s numbers in Week 16 when he generated a career-high 58 yards, averaged 5.8 yards per attempt, and produced the first two rushing touchdowns of his career.
Rodriguez Jr. also captured his only target in Week 16, while Antonio Gibson carried nine times, assembled 30 rushing yards, and registered two targets.
It is recommended that you follow updates surrounding Robinson Jr.’s status for Washington’s Week 17 matchup with San Francisco. However, Rodriguez Jr. has surpassed Gibson as the back that should be added if Robinson Jr. remains unavailable in Week 17. He would also emerge as a prospective flex option if that transpires.
