Should I start Chris Olave, Jerry Jeudy, Michael Pittman Jr. for Week 3? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.
Each season, there are a large group of wideouts that have solid games mixed with a lot of mediocre performances. It's often difficult to know which of these players to start.
Unfortunately, in fantasy football, it's nearly impossible to have a roster full of must-start studs. That's part of what makes it interesting, but it also makes things more difficult.
Still, making the right choices can go a long way in helping you make the fantasy playoffs. So let's break down start or sit decisions for three mid-round drafted wideouts for fantasy football for Week 3 of the 2025 season!

Should I Start Chris Olave for Fantasy Football?
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave currently sits at 23 targets, which ties him for third in the NFL with Seattle's Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The production on those looks has been less encouraging, as he's the WR31 in PPR leagues right now. He's hauled in 13 of his targets for 108 yards and no touchdowns.
As expected, the Saints are a struggling team right now. They've lost both their games so far, one to the Arizona Cardinals and one to the San Francisco 49ers, who were missing their starting quarterback. But Saints starting quarterback Spencer Rattler has attempted 80 passes through two games, which ranks fourth in the NFL.

Olave will probably be operating in a high-volume passing offense all season, but his continued struggles with injury and the quarterback situation will likely hold back his fantasy output. QB Derek Carr, the team's intended starter for the 2025 season, retired in the offseason.
And while Rattler hasn't performed terribly, it's been tight end Juwan Johnson that's dominated end zone looks, hauling in a touchdown to show for it. Olave ranks 47th in average depth of target among 63 receivers that have run 50 or more routes. He's not getting a lot of work in the end zone or deep downfield.

Olave seems to be healthy heading into Week 3, but he's always a significant risk of missing time in games due to injuries. Still, with that much target volume, he's a decent flex start in PPR leagues right now, and shouldn't be benched just yet.
Should I Start Jerry Jeudy for Fantasy Football?
Jeudy is currently second on his team in targets, with 16 looks from his quarterback, Joe Flacco, through two games. Jeudy's the WR40 in PPR scoring, having caught nine passes for 117 yards so far. Cleveland hasn't had that great of an offense through two weeks.
Though Flacco is playing fine football, Jeudy isn't a clear alpha receiver, and he hasn't ever been. Aside from a stretch of elite production with gunslinger Jameis Winston as his quarterback, Jeudy has never been a valuable fantasy asset, and in Year 6, that isn't set to change.
Jerry Jeudy told reporters today “watch the film and get back to me” regarding his separation on routes vs the Ravens
Outside of 1 catch, Jeudy had
3 catches for 25yds on 7 targetsCan’t say these things when have 3 drops & ZERO contested catches this season #DawgPound pic.twitter.com/SA7pRSrlQw

It's usually not great fantasy analysis to try to delve into a player's mentality, but part of what can make a player fail to achieve their full potential in professional sports is a bad attitude. Jeudy clearly has plenty of talent, as he was a first-round pick and has put impressive route-running skills on tape.
But he hasn't played particularly stellar football this season. He's been outshined by fellow WR Cedric Tillman, a third-round NFL Draft pick, at many stages recently, and Tillman's 15 targets are a close second to Jeudy's. It's hard to recommend starting Jeudy against a tough Green Bay Packers defense.
Should I Start Michael Pittman Jr. for Fantasy Football?
Pittman might be a victim of his team having too many offensive weapons this season to be an every-week starter for the Colts. After a 20.0 PPR fantasy point performance in Week 1, he caught just four of his five targets for 40 yards and no touchdowns in Week 2.
This was despite playing in a closer game in which the Colts were forced to pass five more times than in Week 1. Indianapolis involves Pittman and three other wide receivers heavily -- Josh Downs, Alec Pierce, and Adonai Mitchell -- and rookie tight end Tyler Warren has easily out-targeted Pittman so far, with 16 targets.
I'll say this for Daniel Jones. He freaking TRUSTS Michael Pittman to come away with the ball in a tight window.

But the Colts did play the Denver Broncos in Week 2, who have one of the NFL's best defenses. A Week 3 matchup with the Tennessee Titans, who have a much softer pass defense, presents an opportunity for Pittman to make a bigger impact. He's worth starting in your flex spots for Week 3 for now.
