BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 29% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Show me a weirder backfield than the Rams' and I'll show you a liar. It's been 12 weeks, two-thirds of the season, and the Rams have used three rushers in a rather balanced way since the start of the year. Darrell Henderson Jr. has logged 12 opportunities per game, Malcolm Brown 10, and Cam Akers 7. The same goes for actual touches, with Henderson at 12, Brown at 10, and Akers at 7. This past week, though, it was Akers' time.
The rookie running back has been the least-used of rushers among Rams' tailbacks, and his receiving upside is rather inexistent. Even then, though, it's been two weeks in a row in which he has bested both Henderson and Brown in PPR fantasy points scoring 8.9 in W11 nad 14.4 this past Sunday against San Francisco and finishing as the RB16 (pending MNF).
Akers usage has gone up of late, and he has rushed the ball 33 times in the past four games, tied with Henderson and beating Brown's 22 carries. He also leads all Rams' rushers in that span with 172 yards to Henderson's 99 and Brown's 97, although Akers only has one TD (the other two have one and two in that span).
It is hard to know if Akers will keep his efficiency up, even more considering he's only played 12 and 17 snaps in the past two weeks compared to 53 and 52 by Henderson and Brown. This is a call for the #FreeAkers movement. If you believe in it, then join us and make Akers one of your WW targets. Actually, only do so if you play in deeper formats and are needy at the RB position.
