Bold Predictions for Fantasy Football Week 14: Justin Fields, Alvin Kamara, CeeDee Lamb, A.J. Brown, Evan Engram

Justin Fields - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Mike Fanelli gives his fantasy football bold predictions for Week 14 of the NFL season, giving fantasy players something to think about when setting their lineups.

Week 14 is here, and I’m back with another edition of fantasy football bold predictions. This week’s list of bold predictions will include Justin Fields, Alvin Kamara, CeeDee Lamb, A.J. Brown, and Evan Engram.

Every week, I will provide some fun and bold fantasy football predictions. While these bold predictions aren’t the most likely outcomes, they are things I believe could happen this week.

Let’s look at my five bold predictions for Week 14 of the 2023 NFL season.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Justin Fields…

Torches the Detroit Lions and is the QB1 for the week

Many had high hopes for Fields this season. However, the former Ohio State star has had an up-and-down 2023 campaign. He missed four games with a thumb injury. Yet, Fields has averaged 17.2 fantasy points per game this year. The third-year quarterback has 1,587 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, 400 rushing yards, and a touchdown. More importantly, he has bounced back after starting the season slowly.

Fields averaged 13.3 fantasy points per game over the first three weeks, totaling 14.7 or fewer in every contest. However, he was outstanding the following two weeks, averaging 308.5 passing yards, four touchdowns, 41 rushing yards, and 30.4 fantasy points per game, scoring 27.9 or more in both matchups. While the third-year star got hurt in Week 6, Fields had a massive performance in his first game back from the injury against the Lions.

The former Ohio State star had 169 passing yards and one touchdown against the NFC North division rivals. However, he had 18 rushing attempts for 104 yards in the loss, setting a season-high in both categories. Meanwhile, Detroit’s run defense took a hit after placing star defensive tackle Alim McNeill on injured reserve. Furthermore, the Lions have surrendered 2.3 passing touchdowns and 21.7 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the past month.

Alvin Kamara…

Has two touchdowns and scores over 25 half-point PPR fantasy points

After missing the first three games this year with a suspension, Kamara has been outstanding for fantasy players. He is the RB9 for the season, averaging 17.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, the veteran has more total fantasy points this year than Josh Jacobs, Bijan Robinson, Tony Pollard, and Breece Hall despite his three-game suspension. More importantly, he has been a massive part of New Orleans’ passing attack.

Kamara is second on the team in receptions (60) and targets (69) while fourth in receiving yards (413) and touchdowns (one). Meanwhile, the veteran has been on fire since returning from the suspension. He has scored at least 13.9 fantasy points in all but one contest. Furthermore, the star running back has scored two touchdowns in two of the past five games, including last week.

The former Tennessee star had two rushing touchdowns and 25.9 fantasy points against a solid Detroit Lions run defense. Meanwhile, Kamara faces the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The NFC South division rivals have given up 1.3 rushing touchdowns and 25.5 fantasy points per game to running backs this season, the most and second-most in the NFL. Opposing running backs have had two or more rushing scores against Carolina in half of their games this year.

CeeDee Lamb…

Has over 150 receiving yards and 25 half-point PPR fantasy points

Last season, Lamb had a breakout year as the No. 1 wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. However, the former Oklahoma star started the 2023 season slowly. After averaging 12.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game over the first six weeks, the superstar has been the WR1, averaging 24.5 fantasy points per game, totaling 22.6 or more in 66.7% of the matchups since the bye week.

Furthermore, Lamb is coming off a massive performance in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks. He had 12 receptions on 17 targets for 116 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 26.6 fantasy points. More importantly, the superstar has had over 115 receiving yards in four of six games since the Week 7 bye. His highest receiving yards total of the year came in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Lamb has also been a touchdown machine lately. Over the past six weeks, the the superstar has six receiving touchdowns and a rushing score. He has found the end zone at least once in all but one contest, including four straight. Meanwhile, the Eagles have surrendered 39.9 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the most in the NFL. They have also given up the second-most receiving yards per game to wide receivers this season (196.2 per game).

A.J. Brown…

Has over 150 receiving yards and 25 half-point PPR fantasy points

Fantasy players were concerned when Brown had only 11 receptions on 16 targets for 108 receiving yards and 16.3 half-point PPR fantasy points over the first two weeks. However, the superstar has been the WR3 since the first two weeks, averaging 18.3 fantasy points per game. The former Ole Miss star has been outstanding, totaling 81 receptions on 118 targets for 1,164 receiving yards and seven touchdowns this year, all team-highs.

Last week, Brown had an impressive performance in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He had eight receptions on 13 targets for 114 receiving yards and 15.4 fantasy points. The superstar snapped a two-game cold streak. More importantly, Brown had a solid performance in the Week 9 win over the Dallas Cowboys, totaling seven receptions on nine targets for 66 receiving yards and a touchdown, scoring 16.1 fantasy points.

Dallas has held wide receivers to only 24.4 fantasy points per game this season, the eighth-fewest in the NFL. However, they had no answer for the Seattle Seahawks' wide receiver core last week. The Cowboys surrendered 252 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and 52.7 fantasy points to the Seattle wide receivers. Brown has played at his best against talented defenses. Don’t be surprised if he lights up a shaken Dallas secondary.

Evan Engram…

Finishes the week outside the top 15 tight ends

Following a solid first year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, fantasy players had high hopes for Engram in 2023. He is the TE9 for the season, averaging 8.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, the veteran tight end had struggled to find the end zone. Over the first 11 games this season, Engram had 82 targets but zero receiving touchdowns. Thankfully, he finally scored in Week 13.

Last week, the veteran caught all nine targets for 82 receiving yards and a touchdown, scoring a season-high 18.7 fantasy points in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. However, fantasy players should avoid starting him this week. The Jaguars likely won’t have Trevor Lawrence for Sunday’s matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Furthermore, Engram had only 15.5 total fantasy points since the bye before last week, scoring 7.4 or fewer in every contest.

More importantly, the former first-round pick has an awful matchup this week. The Browns have held tight ends to 4.8 fantasy points per game, the fewest in the NFL. Furthermore, they have surrendered only 2.7 fantasy points per game and one touchdown to tight ends not named Mark Andrews this year. After having a season-high performance, Engram is unstartable in 12 or 14-team leagues because of the matchup and quarterback situation.
