Buffalo Bills - NFL Betting Analysis

the Buffalo Bills head into the season looking to make another appearance in the playoffs. Last year's team ended the year with a 42-36 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. During the regular season, the Buffalo Bills posted a record of 11-6, making them the Champions of the AFC East.

Buffalo heads into the season looking to once again have one of the top scoring offenses in the league, as their per game average of 28.4 ranked 3rd in the league. the Bills have a matchup against the 15th-ranked scoring defense in 2021-2022. In last year's games against teams that finished in the middle third of the league in points allowed, Buffalo averaged 31 points per game and an average of 389 yards.

This season, the Buffalo Bills hope to continue last year's trend of getting off to hot starts, ranking 1st in the NFL in 1st quarter scoring margin. For the season, they held ended the first quarter with a lead 71.0% of the time.

In week 1, Buffalo starter Josh Allen will be kicking off his 5th season in the league. For the year, Allen started all 17 regular season games for the team. In terms of production, he threw for a total of 4,407 yards, placing him 8th in the league.

Los Angeles Rams - NFL Betting Analysis

The Los Angeles Rams kick off the season as the reigning Super Bowl Champions, after taking down the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl by a score of 23-20. During the regular season, Los Angeles posted a record of 12-5, making them the Champions of the NFC West.

Los Angeles is coming off a year in which they averaged 27.1 points per game on offense, good for 7th. The Rams will square off against last season's 1st ranked scoring defense. Los Angeles averaged 29.67 points per game against top 10 defenses in the 2021-2022 season.

A large part of Los Angeles's offensive success was their ability to move the ball through the passing game, as they ranked 5th in overall passing yards. On the year, they finished with more passing yards than their opponents in 71.0% of their games.

In week 1, Los Angeles starter Matthew Stafford will be kicking off his 14th season in the league. Last season, Stafford started all 17 games for Los Angeles. His overall passing yards of 4,886 placed him 3rd among other NFL quarterbacks.

Last year, the Rams gave up points similar to the NFL average at 21.9 points per game (16th).

 

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Bills vs. Rams

Buffalo comes into the game looking to continue their recent success over Los Angeles, as they have a record of 4-1 over the last 5 meetings. Combined, the teams have averaged 48.4 points per game in these games. The over-under record in this stretch was 4-1. Last year, the Bills and Rams did not play each other.

Buffalo comes in with an ATS mark of 4-1 in these matchups. The Bills' offense has averaged 29 points per game over the 5 most recent meetings with Los Angeles, compared to the Rams at 19.4.
