Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

5043 articles

You won't find a bigger Cubs fan than myself. Aside from my love of fantasy sports, which includes MLB, NFL and NBA, I own my own animal care business. I graduated from Columbia College in Chicago and currently reside in Chicago, IL. My love of fantasy sports started for me in the early 2000's and I have steadily been active with the same group of friends year in and year out for every league in baseball, basketball and football. I am hoping to help all RotoBaller members with any questions they may have. I consider myself an expert with minor league prospects, as it is a love of mine. I hope to give the best advice I can to the RotoBaller world!

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Sunday's victory versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Smith has been having a very good year behind the plate for the Dodgers and has found his power stroke over the past 30 games with eight home runs during that time. Smith […]

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor continued his career year in Sunday's victory versus the Colorado Rockies. Taylor went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo homers, both off Jon Gray in the bottom of the first inning and bottom of the fifth inning. Taylor made his first All-Star roster this year and has continued his […]

Josiah Gray Goes Four Innings In First Start

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Josiah Gray made his second career appearance and first start of his career in Sunday's no-decision versus the Colorado Rockies. Gray tossed four frames and allowed three hits, two runs, four walks and struck out six. Not the best outing, but also not the worst for the youngster. Gray is […]

David Bote Homers In Return

Chicago Cubs infielder David Bote went 1-for-3 with a walk and two-run home run in his return to the lineup on Sunday versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bote returned from a separated shoulder that had sidelined him since May 29. Bote has versatility around the diamond and that will keep him in the lineup for most […]

Anthony Rizzo Crushes 12th Home Run

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's victory versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Rizzo's home run was on the backend of back-to-back homers with Kris Bryant in the bottom of the first inning. Rizzo entered the contest on a cold streak and hopefully Sunday's performance will help him […]

Trevor Williams Secures Victory On Sunday

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Trevor Williams shined in Sunday's victory versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Williams went 6 1/3 innings this afternoon and allowed five hits, zero runs, zero walks and struck out six. The veteran has mostly struggled in his debut season with the Cubs, but this was his best start of the season and […]

Kris Bryant Hits 17th Home Run

Chicago Cubs infielder/outfielder Kris Bryant went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's victory versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Cubs Activate David Bote, Option Trevor Megill

The Chicago Cubs have activated infielder David Bote from the 10-day injured list on Sunday. Alec Mills Goes Five Innings In No-Decision

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Alec Mills went five innings and recorded a no-decision in Saturday's contest versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Willson Contreras Hits 15th Home Run

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Contreras hit a rocket off of Merrill Kelly in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the Cubs up 2-0 at the time, but it wouldn't be enough offense to help carry the Cubs to […]

David Price Has Longest Outing Of Season

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher David Price pieced together his longest start of the season on Friday versus the Colorado Rockies. Price went 5 2/3 innings and allowed four hits, three runs, one walk and four strikeouts. Price was cruising for most of the evening, but was yanked with two outs in the top of […]

Cody Bellinger Exits Early With Left Hamstring Tightness

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger exited Friday's contest early with left hamstring tightness. Bellinger entered the game without a hit in his last 26 at-bats, but went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and one RBI. The injury just adds to what has been a major misfortune of a season for the outfielder. Bellinger […]

Andrew Vaughn Continues Good Start To Second Half

Chicago White Sox first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn went 3-for-4 with a double and solo home run in Friday's loss versus the Milwaukee Brewers. Vaughn's solo home run would be in the only run on the board for the White Sox. Vaughn started to warm up before the All-Star break and he has begun the second […]

Lucas Giolito Suffers Tough Loss

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito suffered his seventh loss of the season in Friday's matchup versus the Milwaukee Brewers. Giolito pitched six innings and allowed six hits, one run, five walks and struck out three on the evening. The five walks weren't ideal for managers this evening, but Giolito was still able to […]

Patrick Mahomes Expected To Have No Restrictions

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes believes that he will have no restrictions with his left foot when training camp starts. Mahomes underwent toe surgery after the season and recently shed his walking boot. Mahomes hasn't had a setback since then and it's a great sign for the signal caller looking ahead to this season. […]

Kris Bryant Draws A Pair Of Walks In Return

Chicago Cubs infielder/outfielder Kris Bryant returned to the lineup on Friday versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Robinson Chirinos Has Big Game In Victory

Chicago Cubs backup catcher Robinson Chirinos showed his power in Friday's victory versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Javier Baez Hits 22nd Home Run

Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's victory versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Baez got the Cubs on the board early with his home run in the bottom of the first inning off of Zac Gallen. Baez is an upcoming free agent and there is a real chance that […]

Zach Davies Picks Up Victory On Friday

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Zach Davies picked up his sixth victory of the season on Friday versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Willson Contreras Will Rest On Friday

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras will get a day off on Friday versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Contreras has been one of the most productive catchers since his […]

Kris Bryant Returns To Cubs Lineup

Chicago Cubs infielder/outfielder Kris Bryant will return to the Cubs lineup on Friday versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Cody Bellinger Continues To Struggle At The Plate

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger went 0-for-4 in Thursday's loss versus the San Francisco Giants. Bellinger has dealt with two stints on the injured list this season and is hitting a weak .152 with four […]

Kenley Jansen Gets Rocked

Los Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen continued his struggles with his third consecutive blown save on Thursday versus the San Francisco Giants. Jansen was called to protect a 3-1 lead and started the inning by striking out two of the three first batters, but it was all downhill from there. Jansen was pulled with the […]

Kris Bryant Comes Off Bench On Thursday

Chicago Cubs infielder/outfielder Kris Bryant (hamstring) pinch-hit on Thursday versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Bryant has been sidelined with hamstring fatigue and tonight was his first appearance since leaving Tuesday's contest early. Bryant drew a walk in his at-bat and then was pulled for a pinch runner.
