Vikings Hire Jerrod Johnson As Offensive Assistant
The Minnesota Vikings hired Jerrod Johnson to serve as an offensive assistant and to work with the quarterbacks under new head coach Kevin O'Connell, according to a source. Johnson is a two-time participant in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, and Johnson served as a quality control coach for the Indianapolis Colts in 2021. The 33-year-old has also worked with the San Francisco 49ers. He played quarterback at Texas A&M and went undrafted before playing for six different NFL teams. Johnson never actually played in a regular season game, however. He'll primarily be working with quarterback Kirk Cousins, who the Vikings are expected to retain heading into the 2022 season.
