Baker Mayfield To Have Surgery Jan. 19
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) will have surgery to fix the torn labrum in his left shoulder on Jan. 19 in Los Angeles, according to a source. With Mayfield shutting it down with one game remaining in the regular season and electing to undergo surgery as soon as possible, he will have plenty of time to make a full recovery for what will be his option season in 2022. The 26-year-old tore his labrum all the way back in Week 2 and also dealt with foot and knee injuries along the way. It showed in the numbers, as Mayfield went 253-for-418 (60.5 completion percentage) for a career-low 3,010 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, 13 interceptions and a career-low 35.3 QBR. Even if he's fully healthy going into next season, he won't be anything more than a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes.
