NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 11/02

Good Evening and welcome back! After last night’s small slate, we are back with a nine-game slate. There is only one team playing on the back-half of a back-to-back and it is Ottawa. There are a few mismatch games with decent favorites as well: Detroit, Toronto and Philadelphia. In order to take down a GPP on this slate though, it might mean playing one of the other matches in hopes that it becomes a goal fest.

Vegas Odds for the Day

Players Out

Erik Karlsson - D - San Jose Sharks

Oliver Ekman-Larsson - D - Vancouver Canucks

William Karlsson - C - Vegas Golden Knights

Players Expected Back

NHL DFS Goalies

Carter Hart- DK $8.5K || FD $8.4K

Opponent - Arizona Coyotes

Hart has been on quite the rollercoaster of form lately with two losses and two wins in his last four. In that timeframe, he is also averaging just under 3.0 goals against. Luckily, he now gets to play the lowly Coyotes who sports league lows in Goals For Per 60 (GF/60) at 1.43 and Expected Goals For Per 60 (xGF/60) at 1.92. With a muddied slate, this is a smash spot.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Campbell(DK $8.1K || FD $8.2K), Hellebuyck(DK $8K || FD $8K), Markstrom(DK $7.9K || FD $7.9K), Gibson(DK $7.7K || FD $7K)

NHL DFS Centers

Dylan Larkin-DK $7K || FD $6.6K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

Montreal is trying to compete with Arizona to see who can be the worst team for goals against in the league. This is a plus matchup for Larkin who is currently carrying a bulk of the offense for the Red Wings with a 3-5-8 line in eight appearances. Larkin also has only produced single-digit fantasy points once so far this season. Going against a team that is having a hard time keeping pucks out of their net and they just lost to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, I am all for it.

John Tavares- DK $6.7K || FD $7.4K

Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights

If you know me, you know I am not a Tavares fan, however, the Leaf's captain has been playing out of his mind as of late. Everyone continues to flock to the Golden Child (Austin Matthews), but we will suit up alongside the one who is carrying the offense right now. Through nine appearances, Tavares is averaging 3.44 shots per game and he has a solid 3-4-7 line to go along with it. He also has only produced a dud once in his last five matches, averaging 14.14 DK points and he is $2.1K cheaper than Matthews.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Seguin(DK $7.2K || FD $6.8K), Lindholm(DK $7.1K || FD $7.5K), Couturier(DK $6.6K || FD $7.6K), Pettersson(DK $6.3K || FD $6.6K), Strome(DK $5.6K || FD $5.6K), Dubois(DK $5.5K || FD $5.3K)

NHL DFS Wings

Wings

Cam Atkinson- DK $5.9K || FD $6.4K

Opponent - Arizona Coyotes

This man is still under $6K on DraftKings and this is most likely the last slate we see his price that low. Atkinson has been carrying the Flyers on his back since their first game this season and the winger is sporting a 6-1-7 line currently, while he averages 3.2 shots per game. He has hit a lull with zero points in his last two, however, Arizona is the perfect team to regain form.

Alex Kerfoot- DK $2.6K || FD $3.8K

Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights

Once again we are picking on the Golden Knights with Tavares’s linemate Kerfoot. The winger continues to be priced under $3K and this is the perfect spot to abuse the mispriced Leaf. Vegas continues to lose players to injury and COVID and this, in turn, provides some juicy matchups. Kerfoot has yet to shine this season, but if there was a time to do it, it is now.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Connor(DK $ 7.8K || FD $8.9K), Panarin(DK $ 7.6K || FD $7.9K), Marner(DK $ 6.5K || FD $6.8K), Gaudreau(DK $5.7K || FD $7K), Pavelski(DK $5.3K || FD $5.4K), Miller(DK $5.1K || FD $6.6K), Raymond(DK $4.8K || FD $4.7K), Svechnikov(DK $2.7K || FD $3.6K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Defense

Moritz Seider- DK $4.1K || FD $4K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

DraftKings mispriced yet another player on the slate for a post-Halloween treat. Seider has exceeded expectations so far this year and over his last five appearances, he is averaging, 1.6 shots, 1.4 blocks and 9.22 DK points. Oh yea, he also has an assist in every game in that timeframe too. All Seider has to do is take a few shots and he already hits value.

Ryan Merkley- DK $2.5K || FD $3.5K

Opponent - Buffalo Sabres

Sitting at the bottom of the pricing, Merkley is looking like he will get another game to make a statement with teammate Erik Karlsson battling COVID-19 results. Merkley along with his brother were high prospects in juniors, but they have not made a name for themselves since. Ryan is a mobile puck-moving defenseman, similar to that of Karlsson and he will be quarterbacking the second power-play for the Sharks. At the minimum price, he needs a shot or two and he hits value.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Hamilton(DK $7.8K || FD $7.1K), Pietrangelo(DK $6.7K || FD $6.2K), Ristolainen(DK $4K || FD $4K), Yandle(DK $3.7K || FD $4.6K)
