3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi isn't in the lineup on Thursday for a matchup with the Cleveland Indians and right-handed starter Triston McKenzie. Mondesi just made his return from the injured list in last night's game and is getting the day off Thursday. The 25-year-old has only appeared in 11 games this season due to three stints on the injured list but has made a significant impact when on the field. In 43 plate appearances, Mondesi is batting .366 with a .381 on-base percentage, five home runs, and a pair of stolen bases. Nicky Lopez is starting at shortstop, Mondesi's usual position, and is hitting leadoff against Cleveland. Lopez is batting .292 with a .363 on-base percentage, one home run, and 18 stolen bases in 432 plate appearances this season. He's worth a look as a streaming option for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
