FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/7/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Adbert Alzolay - Fantasy Baseball Closers, Saves, Waiver Wire Pickups

Mike Marteny highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/7/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

FanDuel was nice enough to put all three MLB games on one slate today despite the weird start time in Boston. This is by far the smallest slate of the season so far. We need to find a couple of good stack spots here and try to get different with them. Most will build with a 4-4 stack. Building with 4-2-2 or 3-3-2 could be a good way to get some leverage on the field. We'll need it.

Fortunately, the weather is good for all three games out there. Boston has some really nice hitting weather with a 13 mph breeze out to center. It will be a little cooler in L.A. with a 10 mph breeze out to left-center. We have a 8 mph wind out to right in San Diego with about the same cooler temps as L.A. Advantage: Boston.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 6/7/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Adbert Alzolay – CHC at SD ($9,900)

We saw glimpses of the Alzolay we have watched for the last six weeks or so during the shortened 2020 season. Alzolay has not allowed more than three runs in a start since his first start on April 6 and has allowed just three runs combined over his last three starts. The only real complaint that you can have with Alzolay is that the Cubs usually pull him after five innings or shortly thereafter. Alzolay put up 39 FanDuel points on the Padres on Wednesday at Wrigley, but Tatis wasn't in the lineup for that one. Still, I like Alzolay's chances to be around the 40 mark again tonight.

Potential Alternate Play

Nick Pivetta – BOS vs. MIA ($9,300)

Pivetta has struck out at least seven batters in four straight starts while managing to keep a respectable ERA. He has won six of ten starts with a good offense backing him up and welcomes a Marlins team that really has no business adding a DH to their lineup, but it's just another chance to rack up some strikeouts. I see Pivetta as more the cash play since the Red Sox don't often pull him before six innings. They're comfortable letting Pivetta go around 100 pitches before going to get him. I can't say the same about the Cubs with Alzolay.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Willson Contreras – C, CHC at SD ($3,100)

One way to gain some leverage is to run a catcher at the C/1B position on FanDuel. Contreras has been leading off against lefties and picked up two hits, including a two-run homer, against Ryan Weathers last week at Wrigley. This is a good leverage spot since I'm sure most will go with Rizzo or Jared Walsh against the rookie today.

Whit Merrifield – 2B, KC at LAA ($3,600)

Merrifield has three straight games with double-digit FanDuel points and hasn't been held scoreless since May 29. Merrifield has 97.5 FanDuel points in five June games and doesn't look to be slowing down. Add Dylan Bundy, a guy who has allowed 21 runs in his last four starts, to this equation and we have the potential for another big game for Whit. Bundy has one FanDuel point or fewer in three of his last four starts. The Royals are looking pretty good right now!

Patrick Wisdom – 3B, CHC at SD ($2,700)

The Cubs are showing their wisdom by keeping Wisdom in the lineup. He has six home runs in the last seven games with nine RBI and seven runs scored in that span. One of those homers came against tonight's starter, Ryan Weathers, at Wrigley last week. Don't let the park factor deter you. San Francisco is a pitcher's park as well and Wisdom hit three homers in the last two games there. Ride the hot hand!

Xander Bogaerts – SS, BOS vs. MIA ($3,500)

Most will choose not to go after Pablo Lopez, but that's not a sound strategy. His surface numbers of a 2.82 ERA and 1.15 WHIP look very good, but Lopez has really struggled away from Marlins Park again this year. His ERA balloons to 5.04 in six road starts with a 1.48 WHIP. Add in the fact that Boston has the DH and this offense as a whole has woken up of late, and it looks like it's going to be a long night for Pablo.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Andrew Benintendi – OF, KC at LAA ($3,300)

After a bit of a rough start, Benintendi is starting to come around. He has at least one hit in his last 10 games that he started and is hitting .351 with three homers and 14 RBI in that span. In fact, Benintendi has driven in a run in five straight games with 11 of those RBI coming in the last five games. He's cooking with gas right now and Bundy is a gas can.

Hunter Renfroe – OF, BOS vs. MIA ($3,000)

Renfroe extended his hitting streak to 10 games yesterday. During this hot streak, Renfroe is hitting .491 with two homers, six RBI, and 11 runs scored. Add in the struggles of Pablo Lopez on the road, and Renfroe looks like a hell of a bargain at this price. Renfroe has some high highs and some low lows. Enjoy this high while it lasts.

Corey Dickerson– OF, MIA at BOS ($2,200)

Boston does have the best hitting weather on the slate by a large margin, and Dickerson is plenty familiar with Pivetta from his time with the Phillies. Dickerson is 4-7 with a homer and two RBI in his career against Pivetta. The options are fairly limited, especially if you're looking to go cheap on a hitter or two tonight. Dickerson at this price is definitely worth a dart throw.
