Indiana forward Doug McDermott is a worthy consideration as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 12 of the NBA season.

ANALYSIS: While the debut of Caris Levert as an Indiana Pacer might be an obstacle in the way of Doug McDermott maximizing his playing time moving forward, he's definitely been up to what he routinely does best, and he's finally doing it at a respectable statistical volume. McDermott has been playing more than ever before this season, and while his minutes have dipped slightly so far in March to 26.1 minutes across five games, he has still averaged a season-best 15.2 points with 3.6 rebounds, and has heated up from long-distance by converting on 10 of 24 attempts (41.7%).
McDermott has always been a notable sharp-shooter, but the uptick in PT has given him the opportunity needed to contribute meaningfully in his key categories with a modest pairing of rebounds. His three-point volume of two per game this month at a season-best percentage combined with his 61% true shooting rate and 58.8% effective field goal rate lay the foundation for consistent offensive success, making Doug McDermott a great option in deeper formats.
