Philadelphia Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski announced on Tuesday that the team promoted Sam Fuld to general manager. Former GM Matt Klentak was reassigned in October. The 39-year-old Fuld has been in the team's front office since 2017, joining them initially as the major league player information coordinator. He was the director of integrative baseball performance last season and oversaw athletic training, strength and conditioning and nutrition. Fuld also spent parts of eight seasons as an outfielder with the Rays, Cubs, Athletics and Twins, leading all National League rookies in 2009 with a .409 on-base percentage. The Phillies also promoted Jorge Velandia to assistant general manager and Terry Ryan to special assistant to the general manager.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
