Dexter Fowler Lands On IL, To Miss Multiple Weeks
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler was placed on the injured list prior to Wednesday’s contest against Cincinnati due to concerns about possible exposure to COVID-19. Fowler is taking a medication that could potentially compromise his immune system, with his placement on the IL serving as a precautionary measure. Lane Thomas and Dylan Carlson figure to be the two biggest beneficiaries of Fowler’s absence in the short term, although the Cardinals’ plethora of outfielders makes rostering any a difficult proposition. Expected to miss multiple weeks, Fowler can safely be left on the waiver wire in most leagues.
