Buffalo Sabres defenseman Brandon Montour will be sidelined for the next three to four weeks after suffering a hand injury during preseason action. The 25-year-old, acquired from the Ducks in February of last season, is expected to hold down a top-four defenseman role in Buffalo when he returns in either late October or early November. With 35 points (eight goals, 27 assists) to go along with 181 shots and six power-play points in 82 games last season, Montour has showcased flashes of offensive brilliance at times but likely needs to be more consistent in order to take his game to the next level. He should remain a target in deep fantasy leagues based on his potential alone.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
