DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/6/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on May 6th, 2019. Daniel E. Dobish's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

For Monday's slate of Major League Baseball games, I'll focus on the nine evening contests (first pitch of 7:05 PM EST and later). Be sure to double-check the weather and the lineups before finalizing your roster.

The weather forecast looks very favorable across most MLB venues, as the winds should be rather neutral at 8 mph or less, and the precipitation forecast is for 20 percent or less chance of rain across all venues. The only place where wind will play a factor will be the Marlins-Cubs battle at Wrigley Field, with a 9-12 mph wind blowing in from left-center field to home plate. The Mets and Padres will fact 8-11 mph winds, also blowing in from left-center field.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/6/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter @danieledobish.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Cole Hamels - P, CHC vs. MIA ($9,000)

Hamels takes the ball against the Marlins in the series opener, as the Cubs put their seven-game winning streak on the line. Miami has managed a dismal 1-6 record against left-handed starting pitchers this season, so it's a very favorable matchup for Hamels and the Cubbies. Miami is also 0-4 in the past four starts by RHP Sandy Alcantara, so there is a more than good chance Hamels comes away with the victory and plenty of DFS points.

Miles Mikolas - P STL vs. PHI ($7,500)

The Cardinals have won 12 of their past 14 games at home, and they're 9-2 in the past 11 starts by Mikolas at Busch Stadium. In addition, they're 20-6 in his past 26 starts overall, and 10-1 in his past 11 starts against teams with a winning overall record. They're also 6-0 in his past six at home vs. winning teams. On the flip side, the Phillies are just 3-11 in the past 14 road outings by RHP Vince Velasquez, while cashing in only seven of their past 23 against winning teams. Roll with Mikolas, a tremendous medium-priced starter.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Willson Contreras - C, CHC vs. MIA ($4,800)

Contreras is the chalk, $500 more in salary than every other backstop on the board. However, his power potential makes him worth the extra dough. He has nine homers and 21 RBI with a .311/.432/.678 slash line and 1.110 OPS, best among all receivers. He is hitting .348 (23-for-66) with six doubles, seven homers and 17 RBI vs. RHP, so he should have no trouble with Alcantara.

Jesus Aguilar - 1B, MIL vs. WAS ($3,500)

Sure, Aguilar is facing RHP Max Scherzer, but the pitcher hasn't been his dominant self this season. Aguilar makes for a nice contrarian play, and he is an outstanding 6-for-16 (.375) with a double, three homers and seven RBI over the past seven days.

Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU vs. KC ($4,400)

Altuve is actually down the list in terms of DFS salary on Monday, with six other more expensive options ahead of him. Take advantage of the matchup against RHP Jeff Junis. Altuve is slashing a solid .271/.390/.604 at home with five homers and 10 RBI with 10 walks, just seven strikeouts and seven runs scored.

Yuli Gurriel - 3B, HOU vs. KC ($3,700)

Stick with the 'Stack against Junis' theme, roll with Gurriel, who can also be used at first base at DraftKings, if you so choose. He enters with back-to-back multi-hit games, just the second time he has accomplished that feat this season.

Xander Bogaerts - SS, BOS at BAL ($4,800)

Bogaerts always handles the twig well against southpaws, and he should be solid against Orioles LHP John Means. The BoSox shortstop is 9-for-24 (.375) with two doubles, three homers and six RBI vs. LHP this season. He is also 6-for-15 (.400) with a double, a homer, five RBI and four runs scored against Baltimore pitching this season.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Marcell Ozuna - OF, STL vs. PHI ($5,000)

If you're gonna splurge on a position player, Ozuna is the way to go against Velasquez. He is slashing .267/.353/.600 with seven doubles, 11 homers and 30 RBI with 28 runs scored across 120 at-bats. Five of those homers and 17 RBI have come at home in just 50 at-bats, and Velasquez has had his issues on the road. It should be the perfect storm.

Franmil Reyes - OF, SD vs. NYM ($3,600)

Reyes is worth a roll of the dice against RHP Jake deGrom, who hasn't been his dominant self lately. In fact, the Mets are 0-4 across his past four outings. Reyes, on the other hand, is hitting .252 with four doubles, nine home runs and 16 RBI across 103 at-bats. His salary is very low based on his power production.
