Christian Yelich Exits Game Early With Back Injury
Christian Yelich left Sunday's game against the New York Mets in the fifth inning with lower back discomfort. The reigning National League MVP was 1-for-2 before exiting. Yelich has dealt with back injuries throughout his career, but hopefully, this one is not serious. If the 27-year-old is out for a while, Ben Gamel will see an uptick in playing time. Brewers' manager Craig Counsel said that he doubts Yelich will suit up for Monday's game, but he should avoid a trip to the injured list. Consider the star slugger day-to-day until further notice.
