San Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens will start on Thursday night against the Raiders over C.J. Beathard (wrist), according to a source. Beathard will serve as the backup after struggling to grip the football in practice this week. It will be Mullens' first action in a regular season NFL game, so don't expect much from him, even in a good matchup against Oakland's struggling defense. San Fran's receiving options need to be slightly downgraded. The 49ers could elect to lean on their ground game in this one. Beathard will likely still be active after the team released Tom Savage, but he can't be used in two-QB leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
