Joe Musgrove Undergoes Surgery
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove (abdomen, pelvis) underwent surgery to fix the abdominal wall and to help his pelvic stress reaction heal. The Pirates expect the right-hander to be on a schedule close to a normal spring training. Musgrove was shut down late in the year due to the injury. He had his moments in 2018 and went 6-9 with a 4.06 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 7.8 K/9 across 19 starts for the Bucs. He should remain a key member of the rotation heading into next season as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks.
