Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov will get the nod for his team when the Wild come to town for the season opener on Thursday night. The 30-year-old is coming off a 2017-2018 campaign in which he posted 24 wins, a 2.68 goals against average and a .920 save percentage in 47 starts. Despite the solid statistical season, Varlamov missed all of April (including the playoffs) due to a knee injury and has spent a considerable amount of time on injured reserve throughout his career. As a result, the Avalanche acquired Phillip Grubauer in the offseason and the two goalies appear to be involved in a timeshare for the net in Colorado. Varlamov will look begin the season on the right foot on Thursday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
