The Houston Texans are confident that linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (knee) will be ready when the season starts, but they are easing him into training camp after he had offseason arthroscopic knee surgery. He has yet to fully participate in drills. “He’s been very limited in terms of what he’s done on the field, but he looks great," defensive line coach Anthony Weaver said. It took Clowney until his fourth year for him to play a full season, which is why the Texans want to see him stay healthy longer before agreeing to an extension.
