Justin Verlander Beaten By Former Team
Houston Astros starter Justin Verlander was touched up for six runs (five earned) through six innings Sunday against his former team, the Tigers. Verlander (9-5) took the loss in the 6-3 Tigers victory despite striking out 12 Detroit hitters. After a scorching start to his season Verlander has begun to show minor cracks in his game over the last month. The right-hander posted a 4.34 ERA in the month of June and is only 5-5 over his last 15 starts. Verlander is still a top-flight fantasy choice among pitchers but his numbers have dipped slightly over the last month after dominating the league in 2017 and the first month and a half of 2018.
