Justin Verlander Beaten By Former Team
6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander was touched up for six runs (five earned) through six innings Sunday against his former team, the Tigers. Verlander (9-5) took the loss in the 6-3 Tigers victory despite striking out 12 Detroit hitters. After a scorching start to his season Verlander has begun to show minor cracks in his game over the last month. The right-hander posted a 4.34 ERA in the month of June and is only 5-5 over his last 15 starts. Verlander is still a top-flight fantasy choice among pitchers but his numbers have dipped slightly over the last month after dominating the league in 2017 and the first month and a half of 2018.
