As New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird moves closer towards a return from the disabled list, the current crop of Yankees is already preparing. Neil Walker, who signed with the club for chances to start at first and second base, has begun practicing at third. This comes as Bird is poised to return within three weeks. Currently, he’s rehabbing with the Single-A Tampa Tarpons after undergoing surgery on his right ankle. It was just the latest in a string of injuries for the 25-year-old, who could ultimately be too injury-prone if he doesn’t remain healthy.--RDelgado
