The Philadelphia Phillies didn’t need excellent pitching on Monday as they blew the doors off the San Francisco Giants at Citizens Bank Park. They still did, however, as right-hander Zach Eflin improved upon his first start of the season last week. The 24-year-old tossed 6 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball, conceding just four hits and three walks while striking out nine. While he struck out three times at the plate, his offense scored 11 runs, allowing him to coast to victory. Eflin has been a much-needed rock through two starts following his comeback from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.--RDelgado
