Throughout his career, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar has been a guy who seems to go on long hitting streaks, followed by long periods of absolutely nothing. After a nine-game hitting streak ended on April 19, the reasonable expectation was that Pillar would likely slump for a bit. Well, Pillar is doing his best to dispel those notions, as he’s currently riding another five-game hitting streak. Over that span, Pillar has two home runs, a double, a triple, four runs scored and five RBI. For the year, he’s slashing a fantastic .346/.531/.877. There’s no telling if he’ll keep it up at this pace, but the 29-year-old certainly looks as though he’s ready to put up his best season to date.--John Smith
