FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/24/16): MLB DFS Advice

We've got a monster schedule for Tuesday with 14 night games. FanDuel is offering an All Day slate as well, but for the purpose of this article, I'm going to focus on the main slate. This slate features a heavy dose of games with projected run totals of 8.5 or more.

As for the heaviest favorites today, they are David Price and the Red Sox (-230) and Justin Verlander and the Tigers (-180). For the most part, Vegas is pretty evenly split on the remaining matchups. The teams and player handedness with the best positive park factors, in descending order, are as follows: the Yankees and the Blue Jays left-handed batters, the Indians and White Sox right-handed batters and the Rockies and Red Sox right-handed batters.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/24/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Red Sox versus Jorge De La Rosa

De La Rosa has been getting absolutely smoked by right-handed hitting this season and he has the unfortunate task of taking on a Red Sox lineup that is loaded with pop in a hitter friendly park. It's a small sample size, but right-handed batters own a .488 wOBA and .684 slugging percentage against De La Rosa in 2016. He's allowing an average of over 3.0 HR/9 to both lefties and right-handed bats. There could be a lot of fireworks in Boston tonight. I've got my eyes on Mookie Betts, Chris Young, and Xander Bogaerts.

Tigers versus Jeremy Hellickson

Save for Detroit not being the most hitter friendly park, I really love everything about the right-handed batters in the middle of the order for Detroit as a strong stack tonight. JD Martinez and Miguel Cabrera are really heating up, Ian Kinsler is a solid option and Jerrod Saltalamacchia provides salary relief with power upside. Martinez is featuring an incredible hard-hit rate of 56% over the past 15 days and Cabrera sports an impressive 47%. Tonight they face a starter in Jeremy Hellickson who has allowed greater than a .476 slugging percentage to batters from both sides of the plate and .172 HR/9 to right-handed hitters.

Also Consider: Pirates versus Shelby Miller

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Stephen Strasburg (SP, WAS) - $10,600

I'm going back to the well again with Strasburg, who has been brilliant in his last few performances. He's facing a solid Mets lineup, but it's one that has been slumping a bit and Strasburg has looked as healthy as ever, mowing down batters at a rate of 11.67 per nine innings - the top mark among all starting pitchers slated to deal today. Strasburg has done an excellent job of keeping the ball in the park (0.82 HR/) and faces a Mets lineup that is striking out in nearly 27% of their at-bats against right-handed pitching.

Nate Karns (SP, SEA) - $8,500

A pitcher like Karns that is a bit inconsistent and relies extremely heavily on his breaking pitches always carries a risk, but I like this spot for him. His 9.45 K/9 this season is pretty impressive and he takes on an Oakland lineup that is not only now without Josh Reddick, but has also struck out in 27% of their at bats against right-handed pitching this season. The concern for Karns is normally the HR/9 (1.18 this season), but I'll take the risk against a powerless Athletics lineup in a great pitchers park.

Also Consider: Chris Sale (SP, CHW) - $12,300 (cash/GPP) and Francisco Liriano (SP, PIT) - $9,500 (GPP)

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C)

Salvador Perez (C, KCR) - $2,700

Perez is a great value today in a matchup with a subpar pitcher in Ervin Santana. Perez hasn't been having his most productive offensive season, but the time to roster him is when he faces off with right-handed pitching. His wOBA and ISO splits this season are more than 100 and 80 points higher, respectively, than when he matches up with a left-hander.

First Base (1B)

Chris Davis (1B, BAL) - $3,800

I feel like Crush has a knack for making it into every one of my Tuesday columns. I'm not playing favorites though, he just happens to have a terrific matchup. For the season, David owns a .433 wOBA and .367 ISO against right-handed pitching. Those numbers are not only remarkable on their own, but he also gets to face a pitcher in Doug Fister that has surrendered a .546 slugging percentage to left-handed batters this season.

Also Consider: Justin Smoak (1B, TOR) - $2,700

Second Base (2B)

Rougned Odor (2B, TEX) - $3,500

After weeks of seeing Odor with a price tag above 4k, we have the opportune spot to roster him at a cheap price in a great matchup. Odor sports great power numbers against right-handed pitching this season with his .237 ISO and .513 slugging percentage and he matches up with Chacin, who has surrendered 1.71 HR/9 to lefties this season.

Shortstop (SS)

Carlos Correa (SS, HOU) - $3,900

Correa priced under 4k is a real steal, especially at a position like shortstop where power can be scarce. To date, Correa sports a .364 wOBA and .208 ISO against right-handed pitching. His opponent, Chris Tillman, has been solid this year but in 2015 allowed a .500 slugging percentage and 1.75 HR.9 to right-handed hitters.

Third Base (3B)

Pedro Alvarez (3B, BAL) - $2,800

I'm not blown away but any of the options at third today and therefore I'm looking to save some cash in a guy with power upside. Enter Pedro Alvarez, he who has a .211 ISO against right-handed pitching this season, plays in a favorable park for left-handed hitters, and matches up well with Doug Fister.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Adam Jones (OF, BAL) - $2,800

You may have begun to notice a trend here with my left-handed Orioles' bats. Jones is an incredible value at this price and should see a lot of ducks on the pond tonight against Doug Fister. Adam owns a .229 ISO against right-handed pitching this season and has also had a hard hit rate of 40% in the past 15 days.

Nomar Mazara (OF, TEX) - $3,100

Nomar is right at home today, exactly where I want my left-handed Rangers hitting against the likes of Jhoulys Chacin. Chacin has allowed 1.71 HR/9 to lefties this season and Mazara owns an impressive .390 wOBA and .219 ISO against right-handed pitching this season.

Bryce Harper (OF, NYM) - $4,300

Is it possible for a Bryce Harper pick to be contrarian? Honestly, the lines have been so blurred about what is or isn't contrarian, that I'm not even sure anymore. You could present your case in so many different ways. What we have here, though, is a cheaply priced Harper who gets to match up with the struggling Matt Harvey, he who has been getting owned by left-handed hitters this season.

Also Consider: Mitch Moreland (OF, TEX) - $2,900
