FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/16/16): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome to another week of MLB fun on FanDuel. We have a nine-game slate on deck, although you have to choose the "Early-only" contests to get action on the Reds-Brewers. The pitching isn't stellar which means there should be plenty of offensive fun on deck!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/16/16.

The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Tampa Bay Rays

The loss of Logan Forsythe hurts, but the Rays have been a top-five offense versus left-handed pitching including a .272 average against them, best in baseball. J.A. Happ has been stellar this year but I expect the Rays to dint that shiny 2.05 ERA. I like Steven Souza, Evan Longoria, Brandon Guyer, and Steve Pearce today.

Boston Red Sox

If you've been paying attention, you've seen how good this Red Sox offense is. They lead baseball in numerous offensive categories and their .806 OPS versus RHP is best in baseball. Look for them to feast on Yordano Ventura.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Jordan Zimmermann - $10,100

Zimmermann was on the wrong end of Max Scherzer's 20-K performance his last time out, but this will be his time to shine. He dominated the Twins in their last matchup (7 IP, 1 ER), while the Twins continue to be a bottom-five offense versus RHP. Strong cash play.

Jonathan Niese - $7,000

Niese has been pretty awful lately but the Braves are just the cure. He has a 3.08 ERA lifetime versus Atlanta and trust me, this lineup is worse than any Braves lineup he's seen previously. The Braves strike out 22.1% of the time versus LHP, fourth-worst in baseball. He's a great tourney play.

Robbie Ray - $6,000

This is completely a tourney play. Ray has a 9.0 K/9 at home and the Yankees are bottom-five in HR versus LHP. With the Yankees travelling cross-country last night, I like the Diamondbacks  to take game one of this series.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C) - Yasmani Grandal - $2,900

Grandal loves to hit at home and he loves to face righties. He gets a home date with Matt Shoemaker here for only $2,900. Assuming he starts, this is a freebie.

First Base (1B) - Justin Bour - $3,400

Bour has an .899 OPS versus RHP including all of his HR (6) and RBI (18) coming versus righties. He has a .924 OPS on the road so far and Citizens Bank Park is a sandbox.

Second Base (2B) - Jean Segura - $3,500

Segura has been excellent for Arizona even if he isn't walking. He has a .920 OPS at home and gets Michael Pineda tonight, a pitcher who struggles out the gate. Look for Segura to bounce on him in the first inning.

Shortstop (SS) - Xander Bogaerts - $4,400

Bogaerts has been on fire in the past week and is working on a ten-game hitting streak. Given the cheap options at pitching, you can fit X in your lineup.

Third Base (3B) - Josh Donaldson - $3,900

Um.. did someone fall asleep on FanDuel? Donaldson at home, versus a lefty, for under $4K? He is 7-for-14 lifetime versus Drew Smyly with three home runs.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Giancarlo Stanton - $4,100

Stanton at $4.1K is ridiculous. He's slugging .509 versus the Phillies and opponent Jerad Eickhoff is in a bit of a rut on the mound.

Marcell Ozuna - $3,600

Ozuna is hitting. 451 in the past two weeks and continues to be underrated on DFS platforms. I expect the hot-hitting to continue into Philly.

Cameron Maybin - $2,100

Maybin is expected to be activated from the DL today and should resume center field duties for Detroit. He had a HR in rehab and should be ready to go and provides a HR/SB threat at near minimum pricing.
