Steven Matz Rocked For Seven Runs In Just 1.2 Innings, Not Time To Panic Yet

After 10 days of rest, New York Mets Steven Matz was rocked for seven runs before taken out after only 1.2 innings pitched. Last year, he allowed only six runs in the entire season.

It was the shortest outing by a Mets pitcher since Jon Niese on July 4th, 2014 against Texas. All seven runs against Matz were scored in the second inning, including a 419-foot blast off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton.

Matz's overall line came out to seven earned runs on six hits and two walks. Keep in mind, Matz was unbeaten last season going 4-0 with a 2.27 ERA. It is not panic time yet for fantasy owners, but it is concerning.
