MLB Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks - FanDuel Baseball Advice for 4/9/16

We have a fairly split slate today with six games in the afternoon and nine in the evening. If you are wanting to roster an elite pitcher today be sure to get an all day slate or early slate lineup in as there are four(Cole-PIT, Sale-CWS, Kershaw-LAD, Bumgarner-SF) on the bump in the afternoon.

If you are looking for offense there are some great matchups in hitters parks(Coors, Rogers Center) which we will take a look at below.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/9/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Toronto Blue Jays

They let one get away last night after building a 7-2 lead early. Look for even more pop tonight as they have hammered Rick Porcello in the past.

New York Yankees

Great matchup vs. Mike Pelfrey who does not strike anyone out. This could be trouble for Pelfrey as the Yankees have the 3rd highest OBP(.381) to start the season.

Colorado Rockies

This game could look very similar to yesterday where there were 19 runs scored. Today two soft throwing lefties go at it against two right handed power hitting teams in Coors Field. Wash, rinse, repeat.

San Diego Padres

Besides the two lefties at the top of the order the Padres are a strong right handed power hitting team. They exploded for 13 runs yesterday and could see a similar result today vs. Jorge De La Rosa.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Clayton Kershaw

It is a battle of two dominant lefties on Saturday afternoon. Kershaw came out dealing in his first start, allowing only one hit and one walk in seven innings of work while striking out nine batters. He is expensive but well worth the investment in one of the lowest projected totals on Saturday and he has been close to dominant vs. the Giants in his career with a 16-7 record with 1.54 ERA and 243 K's in 227.1 innings.

Carlos Martinez

He will be making his season debut on Saturday in Atlanta in a favorable matchup vs. the Braves who are still winless on the season. He posted close to a 9.0 K/9 rate last season and was much better on the road going 8-3 with a 2.54 ERA.

Zack Greinke

It was an uncharacteristic opening day start for Greinke who gave up nine hits and seven earned runs in just four innings before being yanked. It came out after he had the flu and declined to skip the start. Look for him to bounce back on Saturday at home vs. the Cubs who struck out more than any team in baseball last season.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Matt Wieters - Catcher (C)

He has picked up a hit and an RBI in each of the Orioles first three games before getting a rest yesterday. He should be well rested and ready to face a lefty on Saturday. He has been a better hitter from the side in his career and shown more power.

Tyler White - First Base (1B)

All the talk in the pre season around the fantasy industry was the upside of prospect A.J. Reed. Well it may be awhile before he gets a shot if White keeps playing like a seasoned veteran. He has started his career by going 6/9 with a HR and four RBI. His price is very affordable under $3K so take advantage while the hot streak lasts or the price prices.

Daniel Murphy - Second Base (2B)

He has picked up with his new team where he left off with the Mets last year. Clubbing extra base hits and providing tremendous fantasy value. In his first three games as a National he has tallied four hits, three of which were extra base hits(1-2B, 1-3B & 1-HR). He gets a nice matchup vs. a weak pitcher on Saturday so expect the hot start to continue.

Jean Segura - Shortstop (SS)

He has recorded a multi hit game in each of his first five games with the Diamondbacks. He hits at the top of the order with a ton of power behind him giving him more than enough upside night in and night out.

Todd Frazier - Third Base (3B)

A third straight player in the write ups that has switched teams in 2016 and seen early success. He has seen a power spike in each of the last two years and is off to a great start with the White Sox with two homers in his first five games.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Bryce Harper - Outfield

He is the top priced non pitching option on Saturday but is worth every penny. He is the reigning NL MVP and already has two home runs on the season and now gets a very favorable matchup vs. Tom Koehler who he has destroyed in his career. In 24 at bats Harper has clubbed five homers and driven in 9 RBI. There is always enough value to fit the big dog in.

Matt Kemp - Outfield

Coors. Coors. Coors. Yep the Padres offense just need a little trip to Colorado to wake up the bats. They out slugged the Rockies en route to a 13-6 win in game one of the weekend series. Kemp went 4/6 on Friday with his first HR of the year and gets another golden opportunity on Saturday to do his thing. I know some people don't like looking at BvP data but it's hard to ignore large sample sizes. In 48 career at bats Kemp has 22 hits vs. De La Rosa including five home runs.

Starling Marte - Outfield

Can someone explain to me why Marte is cheaper than Polanco still? Take advantage while it lasts. Marte has much more upside and hits cleanup for the Pirates while Polanco hits leadoff. He comes into Saturday's game with five hits in his last seven at bats.

Kevin Pillar - Outfield

Nice value play under $3K hitting at the top of one of the most potent offenses in baseball. Pillar brings a lot to the table with sneaky power, top end speed and a whole lot of runs potential with the amount of power that comes after him in the lineup.
