DraftKings DFS – NBA Fantasy Basketball Advice & Value Picks (3/9/15)

Brad Leibfried highlights the top NBA DFS lineup picks for 3/9/15 as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your roster on DraftKings.

Below are some DraftKings DFS lineup picks for today’s NBA action, March 9th, 2015. These players represent potential fantasy basketball sleepers based on their matchups, and can be strong DFS lineup plays based on their DraftKings prices and dollar values.

Keep in mind, DFS fantasy basketball is a fast-paced environment that includes last minute changes, so be sure to check NBA injury reports and your DFS lineups prior to tip-off.

Worth the Investment

Stephen Curry (GSW, PG) - $9,500

It still seems incredibly odd that a player of Curry’s status and production is still sitting at $9,500. Over his last 10 games he has only been less than 41 points once while going over 50 three times. He is the easiest plug and play for your cash games tonight, as he is underpriced and almost a virtual lock to hit 40 points in what should be a fast paced game against Phoenix.

You could make an argument that in a GPP Chris Paul would be a better option coming off of two straight 60 fantasy point games, including one against his opponent tonight in Minnesota, but for $1,100 more Curry is hard to pass up.

Andrew Wiggins (MIN, SF) - $6,800

From a purely points stand point it will be hard to not have Anthony Davis as the top forward play tonight, however he still may not be 100% and is always a risk to hurt his shoulder again. Along with those concerns and a rising price, Davis will take a backseat to Wiggins today who has not only missed the rookie wall, but has improved his game of late.

In his last eight games, Wiggins has not been less than 28 fantasy points while bumping his season average to 27.0 fantasy points per game. He has clearly benefitted from Ricky Rubio returning to get him easy shots and continues to contribute across the board with at least 1 steal in nine of 10 games. A match-up with a Clippers team that is 30^th against opposing small forwards only boosts Wiggins value tonight.

DeAndre Jordan (LAC, C) - $8,800

A quick disclaimer, center is an absolute mess tonight! Young upside plays such as Alex Len and Hassan Whiteside are less than 100% healthy while studs like DeMarcus Cousins, Al Jefferson and Joakim Noah all face very difficult match-ups. For that reason the pick to click tonight is Jordan who has seen his scoring numbers fall of recently, but his rebounding and defensive stats are still at an elite enough level to pay off his high price tag. He is on a ridiculous streak of 11 straight games with over 14 rebounds, which alone gets him to 2x value.

If Jordan can take advantage of a weak Minnesota interior with double digit points and a combination of blocks and steals he could again be close to the 50 fantasy point mark. If you want to go cheaper, Marcin Gortat does have a good match-up but carries a rising price tag.

Value Picks

J.J. Redick (LAC, SG) - $5,100

The depleted Clippers continue to be without Jamal Crawford which means Redick is getting as many minutes as he can handle. Prior to yesterday’s game Redick played 41, 38, 44 and 47 minutes which allowed him to post over 25 fantasy points in each. Yesterday was a bit of an outlier that saw him only play 27 minutes so we can safely disregard Austin Rivers big boost in minutes.

In last week’s game against Minnesota, Redick played 44 minutes while posting 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 three pointers. Expect Redick and Kevin Martin to let each other score at will on each other tonight in what should be a high paced game featuring two teams with short benches.

Harrison Barnes (GSW, SF) - $4,200

Barnes is more of a cash game value play than a GPP due to his high floor but low ceiling. The Warriors wing has been over 20 fantasy points in six of his last seven games, but failed to top 30 in any of those outings. Because of this, Barnes generally has a very low ownership percentage and can often be a solid contrarian play.

Also coming into tonight on the back end of a back to back might mean Steve Kerr decides to rest some of his vets, which gives Barnes yet another boost. If there are any players ruled out tonight, hop aboard the Barnes train as he faces the 27^th ranked small forward defense in Phoenix.
