NBA DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers - FanDuel Advice for 1/2

Sam Nedimyer highlights the top NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/2 as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your roster on FanDuel.

All throughout the 2014-15 campaign, RotoBaller will be giving you the top NBA DFS lineup picks at the guard, forward and center positions as well as top sleepers for the day. Below are our favorite picks for January 2nd, 2015.

Keep in mind, fantasy basketball is a fickle game when it comes to injured players, so be sure to check all lineups prior to tip-off. If you want to chat about your roster picks, check out the DFS chat room at the bottom of this post.

Worth the Investment

Eric Bledsoe (PHO, SG) - $8,800

Two-guards are having field days against the 76ers this season- big surprise- and Bledsoe is among the best at his position among all players Friday night.  Philadelphia and Phoenix should both play with pace in what should be a relatively high scoring affair.  Bledsoe has dropped 50.6, 41.6 and 44.4 FDP over his last three games, respectively.  It should be fun to see what he does for an encore.

Paul Millsap (ATL, PF) - $8,400

The Jazz defense doesn’t exactly possess a solid tune on frontcourt defense and Millsap typically hits over 30 minutes, especially in close games.  His budget is rather high considering his irregularity in minutes but he does provide a ton of upside against a somewhat-poor defender in Derrick Favors.  Atlanta is firing on all cylinders right now so hopefully Utah can keep it close and therefore force Millsap into more playing time.  Still, if you start Millsap, watch out for the blowout potential.

Mike Conley (MEM, PG) - $7,500

Friday night offers plenty of juicy picks at the point guard position.  However it should come as no surprise to anyone that the point guard facing the Lakers should get the start.  Los Angeles is giving up the most points to opposing point guards and Conley has been amongst the most consistent starters at PG.  Conley’s price remains fair considering his stability and his owners should see a solid return on investment.  He is the safest pick of the day.

Honorable Mention

Kyrie Irving (CLE, PG) - $8,800

LeBron James is out.  Anderson Varejao is a no go.  Kevin Love is listed as questionable but all signs point to him being scratched.  The Cavaliers will absolutely need Irving to strap on some Russell Westbrook shoes and become a one-man show.  His price is rather high but Irving should touch the ball on every possession he’s on the court as well as stay the course as the number one scoring option.

Top Sleepers

Evan Turner (BOS, SF) - $4,800

Head coach Brad Stevens started Turner at PG last game and Turner’s owners were rewarded with PG worthy FanDuel points.  The Celtics plays up-tempo Mavericks and although Dallas is favored, it should be a relatively close game for most of the affair.  Considering Turner’s last outing, it’s extremely possible that Stevens starts him again in Friday’s game.

Mike Miller (CLE, SF) - $3,700

As explained above, the Cavs are presently decimated at injury.  Frankly, they need bodies out on the court to just soak up minutes.  Miller presents an interesting case.  He’s clearly only a one trick pony as a shooter but then again the Cavs will need to score somehow.  He’s logged at least 19 minutes per game since LeBron began to suffer from his knee strain.  That includes 33 minutes in the win against the Bucks on Wednesday night.  The best guess is that Miller will continue to soak up minutes and at least get his scoring chances.  Let’s hope he can convert on those opportunities.
