FanDuel Studs: Our Best DFS Lineup Picks for Fantasy Football

Each week here at RotoBaller, we provide the subscribers of our DFS Lineup Picks of the Week Newsletter with some of the highest quality advice for salary cap fantasy football on FanDuel.  We also have lots of great FanDuel analysis weekly, so be sure to check back.

Why We Love Weekly FanDuel Football

Are you looking for some more fantasy football action, and want to get involved in weekly DFS games on FanDuel and DraftKings? I know I am. Are you one of those people whose fantasy football team is sporting a lackluster record through the first five weeks of the 2014 NFL season? Are you not that happy with the team you drafted this year in fantasy football? Maybe you are a frustrated AP, Mathews, Ball, Gerhart, Megatron, Green or Cruz owner (just to mention a few on the vast list of disappointments). Well we have the perfect remedy for your fantasy football appetite.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

The weekly format of FanDuel fantasy football is just what the doctor ordered. Draft a new team each week, and battle it out against your friends or as many opponents as you please on FanDuel or DraftKings. It's my favorite way to supplement my fantasy football teams, and plug-and-play guys that I wish I owned in my leagues on a weekly basis. After all there's nothing like owning Matt Forte or Aaron Rodgers for one week, when you missed out on them in all of your season-long fantasy football leagues.

Looking for An Edge?

If you play salary cap leagues on FanDuel, then our expert picks can give you the edge you need to win. Each week we analyze the player matchups, and the associated pricing on FanDuel, to identify the sleepers and value picks to put together a winning lineup. With each newsletter, you will receive our well-researched weekly picks for each position, with both a “Strong Play” and a “Value Play”, and we will also include two or three budget buster tournament plays for each position. All in all, you will be receiving a minimum of 12 of our expertly hand-picked recommendations for your gaming pleasure!

We’ve reprinted some of RotoBaller’s lineup picks from last week’s subscribers-only exclusive newsletter to give you an idea of the FanDuel analysis that we put forward each and every week. As you can see below, our experts had some sweet recommendations for Week 7 lineups, so hopefully you got in on the action! And if not, no worries, there’s still plenty of time for Week 8 and beyond.

A Recap of Some DFS Lineup Picks from Week 7

QB (Strong) – Tony Romo ($8,000) - We're in Week 7 already, so you know how we roll with our number one quarterback. This week is a no brainer for this pick again because the very strong Cowboys get to face off against the division rival Giants who give up an average of 16.67 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Coupled with the fact that this game is being played indoors at home in Dallas where scoring is above the league average, the Giants secondary gives up a way too hefty 7.9 yards per passing attempt to opposing quarterbacks, in addition to averaging 262 passing yards per game. We are going to save you some serious cheddar with this very safe #1 QB option for Week 7, so get in the Dallas gunslinger and don't look back.

Result: 279 passing yard, 5 rushing yards, 3 TD, 1 INT - BULLSEYE

WR (Bonus) - Golden Tate ($6,700) - Although he is sure to draw #1 coverage this week with Calvin Johnson being out, this quick and shifty target monster is poised for a big Week 7 versus the New Orleans Saints putrid Rob Ryan led defense. While Tate is averaging 12.5 FanDuel points thus far, the Saints notoriously bad secondary is allowing an average of 27.06 points to opposing wide receivers. Although there is a chance that Golden Tate will be focused on heavily, it seems that 10-12 targets per game have the potential to yield tremendous fantasy results. So until further notice, Golden Tate and his laughably cheap price tag are a must-start WR2 in all league formats.

Result: 10 receptions, 154 receiving yards, 1 TD - BULLSEYE

WR (Budget Buster) - Doug Baldwin ($5,900) - We'll teach you how to Dougie alright! Start this very deep sleeper and risky tournament buster this week if you need a moonshot at some DFS tournament glory. With Percy Harvin shadily being showed the door in Seattle yesterday, it seems that the Seahawks need to revamp their offensive style and rely less on the trick plays and the targets that Percy Harvin commanded for himself. With that distraction out of the way, there is a ton of room for a reliable, sure-handed receiver like Doug Baldwin to emerge as a solid WR3-4 each and every week depending on opponent. For Week 7, he not only should be the #1 wide receiver target for Russell Wilson, but he also gets to face off against the St. Louis Rams secondary that has hemorrhaged 28.36 fantasy points per game to opposing receivers. So for a mere $5,900, you can get him in and save enough shekels to maximize your RB1 and WR1 options, and still have some potential productivity from an "El Cheapo" pick.

Result: 7 receptions, 123 receiving yards, 1 TD - BULLSEYE

RB (Strong) - Andre Ellington ($7,100) - We've been tepid on recommending this undervalued running back stud thus far in 2014 because the small and shifty back has been battling a foot/ankle injury since the start of the season. That being said, he's still averaged a nice 13.8 FanDuel points and is seemingly getting healthier each and every week as evidenced by his increasing work load. To make matters better, he has the cerebral and weak armed Carson Palmer dumping off screen passes to him all day plus he gets to face off against he Raiders weak rushing defense that allows an average of 22.84 fantasy points per game to opposing backs. If you're not planning on using DeMarco Murray versus the weak Giants defense in Week 7, then save some big dollars and get Andre Ellington into your RB1 discussion (and FanDuel lineup).

Result: 88 rushing yards, 6 receptions, 72 receiving yards - BULLSEYE

Dwayne Allen - ($5,700) - Facing the NFL's weakest defense agains tight ends, Dwayn Allen is in line to make some DFS owners very thankful for choosing him. Averaging 9.7 FanDuel points per game thus far, his big body and speed are a great combo for Andrew Luck to target a lot in the red zone especially.

Result:  3 receptions, 52 receiving yards, 1 TD - BULLSEYE

Jordan Reed ($5,400) - With a history of injuries and limited playing time thus far, Jordan Reed is slightly forgotten about man at the tight end position. Don't miss the chance to get this stud into your mix for Week 7 as he faces the Titans 7th worst defense against the tight end that allows 10.72 points per game.

Result:  5 receptions, 54 receiving yards - HIT
