Sean Tucker 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: Still Overlooked Despite Proven Goal Line Upside
The NFL journey of Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker was complicated by medical concerns that led to him going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he has risen to the occasion whenever given opportunities. Tucker emerged as a valuable complementary piece in Tampa Bay's backfield in 2025, leading the team with seven rushing touchdowns and carving out a significant role near the goal line. With Bucky Irving still working his way back from the shoulder injury that sidelined him for seven games last season and appeared to limit his effectiveness upon his return, Tucker's usage could carry over into 2026. Over the second half of the season, Tucker handled the overwhelming majority of the Buccaneers' carries inside the five-yard line, racking up seven of his eight total touchdowns after Week 7 and establishing himself as the team's preferred short-yardage option. While Irving remains the favorite to lead the backfield in overall touches, Tampa Bay may choose to manage his workload after last year's injury issues. If so, Tucker stands to benefit more than veteran addition Kenneth Gainwell, who profiles more as a direct replacement to pass-catching back Rachaad White. In an offense expected to generate scoring chances once again, Tucker has the touchdown upside to greatly outperform his current ranking of RotoBaller's RB65, and as a player going largely undrafted, he could provide weekly flex value if his red zone role remains intact.
