High-Confidence Strikeout Picks
Jacob deGrom OVER 7.5 strikeouts (-107 Novig)
I love it when we get a high-strikeout pitcher against a high-strikeout opponent, and that's exactly what we have here with deGrom against the Angels tonight. Even at age 37. Jacob deGrom is still humming right along with a 31% K% and 16.9% SwStr% this season, and tonight he'll face the Angels, a team loaded with right-handed hitters and the league's second-worst K% vs. RHP (27.6%) over the last two weeks.
He had a bit of a hiccup in his last outing against the Astros, but deGrom whiffed 10 Cubs in the start prior and set down 10 Pirates earlier this season, too. His 33% vs. RHH is going to play well against this Angels lineup that will have at least six righties in it. His slider is still one of the nastiest in the game, and the Angels should struggle with it today. So as long as deGrom avoids any big innings early, I think he could mow down the Angels.
Davis Martin OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-132 FanDuel)
You can't ignore what Davis Martin has been doing, and while I don't think he's going to be a dominant strikeout pitcher all season, he's still mispriced with his line set at just 4.5 strikeouts. He has seven or more strikeouts in his last five starts!

The 27% K% might still be a bit high based on his 12.5% SwStr%, but only by a few points. I don't mind a little juice on this one, since this prop is a whole strikeout too low. Martin is good for five, and probably six strikeouts tonight.
Trevor McDonald OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-135 BetMGM)
You get an extra freebie today! We are staying in the same game and moving over to the other side of this matchup with McDonald against the White Sox hitters.

Chicago is striking out at 24% clip against RHP over the last two weeks, and McDonald has gone over this number in two of his three starts, averaging 5.7 strikeouts per outing. Again, some juice here, but this bar is too low for McDonald, who has demonstrated a 12% SwStr% and fantastic control with only a 3.9% BB%.
