High-Upside Late-Week Stash Targets: Sneaky Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 9

Jalen Coker - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Our favorite high-upside waiver wire bench stashes, fantasy football sleepers for Week 9 of 2025. Sneaky Waiver wire stashes include Jalen Coker, Isaiah Davis, Luther Burden III more.

With the season past the halfway point, it is more important than ever to stay high-upside lottery tickets. In this piece, we will spotlight four high-upside players who could be league inside during the final weeks of the campaign.

We will spotlight two young running backs who are beginning to earn prominent roles on their respective teams and two young wideouts who could become full-time starters in the near future.

Who are the top stashes ahead of Week 9? Let's dive in!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

High-Upside Waiver Wire Bench Stashes

Only players rostered in fewer than 30% of fantasy football leagues are considered potential streamers.

Isaiah Davis, RB - NYJ
20% Rostered

Davis is quickly exiting the territory and entering waiver-wire territory. This may be your final opportunity to tash him. In Week 8, Davis enjoyed the best showing of the season, where he took seven carries for 65 yards and caught four of his five targets for an additional 44 yards. Despite this impressive production, Breece Hall still dominated he backfield, scoring three total touchdowns.

However, a deeper look shows that Davis could force a committee. In each of the past two games, Davis has logged at least 44% of the snaps, a stark jump from the mere 26% he saw in Week 6. In addition, with Hall's name being linked to trade discussions, Davis could become the lead option in the backfield sooner rather than later.

Even if Hall weren't dealt, he could carry viable FLEX upside, given his role as a pass catcher.

Devin Neal, RB - NO
5% Rostered

The other RB to consider stashing is rookie Devin Neal. With Kendre Miller (knee) out for the season with a torn ACL, Neal was immediately used in the No. 2 role in the backfield. More importantly, the Saints wasted little time involving him in the game plan. After seeing only 13% of the snaps in Week 7, Neal saw his participation jump to a high 46% in Week 8.

In this game, Neal did not take a carry but caught all three of his targets for 11 yards. While he does not have the standalone upside that Davis does, he could become a must-start RB2 if Alvin Kamara were to miss time.

Luther Burden III, WR - CHI
10% Rostered

Burden is currently in the concussion protocol and was likely dropped in your league. This was a great opportunity to pick up a potential league-winning WR. Burden has had an improved role as the team's No. 4 WR but has flashed high upside when on the field. In Week 3, Burden tallied 101 yards with his first touchdown on just three receptions.

Then, following their Week 5 bye, Burden would lead the team in yards during their victory over the Commanders in Week 6. While he took a step back in Week 7, he saw his snap share in this game, suggesting the Bears would like him to be more involved in the second half.

While he could miss a week of action with the concussion, he is still worth stashing in all 12+ team formats that require three WRs. When active, he could be primed to take over the No. 3 WR spot on the depth chart and enter weekly FLEX territory.

Jalen Coker, WR - CAR
8% Rostered

The final player we will look at in this piece is second-year wideout Coker. Coker slowly saw his role increase as an undrafted rookie last season and flashed upside in the final month of the campaign. In his last five games last season, Coker saw 5.6 targets per game and averaged 10.1 PPR points per game, despite playing on a struggling Carolina offense.

In the offseason, Coker was named the team's starting slot wideout, but suffered a quadriceps injury late in August, which put him on the IR throughout the start of the campaign. While he eventually returned in Week 7, he has not had a significant role in the offense. In his season debut, he saw just two targets, but was able to catch three of his four targets this past Sunday for 36 yards.

More importantly, in this game, Coker logged 66% of the snaps, a major jump from the 37% he logged in his debut. In addition, the team's No. 2 WR, Xavier Legette, has struggled to produce consistently, which could allow Coker to take over the No. 2 role in the passing attack sooner rather than later.

If Bryce Young can continue to develop, Coker can become his primary target in the slot and offer high-end WR3 upside in PPR leagues. Managers needing a reliable WR with upside should look to stash Coker, as he could be in store for a breakout game against a tough Green Bay secondary this weekend.
