Jets Decline to Name a Starting QB on Friday
New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn refused to name a starting quarterback for the team's Week 8 contest this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. After Glenn benched Justin Fields at halftime in last Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers, it has been unclear if the team will go with veteran Tyrod Taylor (knee), who is listed as questionable in Week 8, for this weekend's game. According to sources, Glenn was leaning toward Taylor as the starter early in the week. However, since then, Taylor has been limited in practices with a knee injury. Glenn got testy with reporters on Friday who continued to press him on the matter of the QB decision for this weekend's contest. Although Taylor is questionable, Glenn said that he likes the way he's trending. Regardless of who starts under center for the Jets against Cincy, they won't have star receiver Garrett Wilson (knee) for the second straight week. The 0-7 Jets haven't scored a touchdown in their last two games on offense.
