Is Emeka Egbuka and Mike Evans Playing Today? Week 7 Monday Night Fantasy Football Injury Report

Emeka Egbuka - Fantasy Football Rankings, Rookie Rankings, WR Sleepers

Will Emeka Egbuka or Mike Evans play today for Week 7 Monday Night Football (MNF)? Is Emeka Egbuka or Mike Evans playing or out? The latest Emeka Egbuka or Mike Evans injury report and fantasy updates.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter their Week 7 contest against the Detroit Lions with numerous injuries. Currently, Chris Godwin (fibula) and running back back Bucky Irving (knee) have already been ruled out.

In addition, top wideouts, Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka enter this contest carrying a questionable tag.

Will Egbuka or Evans suit up on Monday evening? Let's check out the latest injury update.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

UPDATE - Both Egbuka and Evans are cleared to play this evening. Both WRs carry high-end WR2 upside in a favorable matchup against a weak Detroit secondary.

Emeka Egbuka Fantasy Football Injury Update

The rookie sensation exited their Week 6 contest early due to this hamstring injury. After sitting out in each of the first two practices this past week, the former Ohio State standout faced an uphill battle to return to action this week.

However, on Saturday, Egbuka made a surprising return to practice which kept the door open for a return this weekend. His return to practice allowed him to carry a questionable tag into Monday's contest.

In addition, on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Egbuka has a "real chance" to play on Monday. Managers should pay close attention to his status leading up to kickoff as it appears he will be a true game-time decision.

Mike Evans Fantasy Football Injury Update

Evans has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since exiting their Week 3 victory over the Jets. However, the team opted to not place him on IR and viewed him as week-to-week throughout most of October.

This week, Evans opened the week as a limited participant and was eventually able to upgrade to full participation on Friday which is a positive sign he should be able to return. While he still holds a questionable tag, it appears Evans has a much higher chance to play this evening than his rookie teammate does.

Emeka Egbuka and Mike Evans Fantasy Football Injury Impact

Seeing that Evans is trending toward a return, managers should expect him to operate as the clear WR1 this evening. In Weeks 1 through 3, Evans saw a hefty 28 targets and brought in 14 of them for 140 yards and a touchdown. Seeing how often Baker Mayfield looks his way, Evans could be in store for a dominant showing, facing a Lions secondary that has allowed the eighth-most PPR points to opposing WRs.

While Egbuka does have a chance to play, managers should expect the standout rookie to be put on a somewhat limited snap count. While he still holds immense upside, he would project as a mid-end WR2 given the risk of re-injury or the potential to see his snaps capped.

If Egbuka were to sit out, managers should expect Sterling Shepard or rookie Tez Johnson to slide in as the team's WR2. While both have shown flashes of upside at times, Shepard holds a much safer floor as a viable FLEX play, given his higher target share in the slot.

Egbuka's absence would also open up more targets for lead running back Rachaad White and tight end Cade Otton. Even with some of his top wideouts sitting out or being limited, Mayfield continues to carry elite QB1 upside in this potential high-scoring affair on Monday night.
