Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Luke McCaffrey, WR, Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders wide receiver Luke McCaffrey has scored in three of his last four games and is emerging as a much-needed playmaker in a banged-up Washington WR room. McCaffrey has only eight receptions on the season, but three of them have gone for touchdowns, and one went for 50 yards on an outstanding catch and beautiful deep ball from Jayden Daniels.
McCaffrey's season high for route share was 43.5% back in Week 3, and he hasn't been higher than 40% since then. With Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) out for his fourth straight game and Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel) uncertain for Sunday, McCaffrey could see a bump in routes and targets in Week 7 against Dallas.
It'd be an ideal spot for McCaffrey to get more run, as the Dallas defense has been abysmal against opposing wide receivers, allowing the most PPR points per game. McCaffrey would be a player to consider plugging in for Samuel if he is unable to go.
Javonte Williams, RB, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams has been one of the best backs in the league early in the season. The 25-year-old has found a new home in Dallas and appears to be earning himself a nice payday at the end of the season.
Last week, Williams rushed 16 times for a season-high 135 yards with a touchdown in the win over the New York Jets. Williams has rushed for over 75 yards in four of the first five games this season. He remains an elite RB1 for the upcoming plus-matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6.
Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt will take on the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7. Hunt handled six carries for 23 yards and one catch for 11 yards in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions. The veteran running back continued his run of inefficient games, averaging under 4.0 yards per carry for the fifth time in six games this season.
Despite his struggles, the Chiefs put him in goal-line situations and allowed him the opportunity to score three rushing touchdowns this season. Hunt and Isiah Pacheco had split the backfield opportunities nearly 50/50 until Week 6. Pacheco handled 12 carries compared to Hunt's six, and the former was more efficient with his touches. If the Chiefs decide to feed Pacheco more each week, Hunt's usage in the offense could be trending down.
Despite having a nice matchup against the Raiders, who have allowed eight rushing touchdowns this season, Hunt is ranked RB34 in our RotoBaller Half-PPR rankings this week. Hunt should be viewed as an RB3/Flex option against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Josh Jacobs, RB, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (calf) is now listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Cardinals, according to Zach Kruse of the Packers Wire. Jacobs was previously listed on the injury report with an illness and had been limited, but now looks to be dealing with a calf injury despite being upgraded to a full practice on Friday. His status for Sunday is to be determined, but he should be all good to go for Sunday, barring something unforeseen.
Jacobs has erupted over the last two weeks, totaling 307 yards and scoring four touchdowns. He's lined up to crush again in Week 7 against a Cardinals defense that is allowing the ninth most PPR points per game to opposing running backs.
Jordan Addison, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison is a solid WR3/Flex candidate as the Vikings are set to play host to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7. The Vikings will start quarterback Carson Wentz with J.J. McCarthy (ankle) officially listed as questionable and likely to be the team's emergency third quarterback, though Addison performed well in his lone opportunity with Wentz, connecting for a game-winning touchdown against Cleveland.
Further, Philly hasn't impressed on defense so far this year. The Eagles are struggling to disrupt quarterbacks, ranking 27th in pressure rate, and also ranking near the bottom of the league in defensive average depth of target. As always, Addison is going to be in the shadow of Justin Jefferson, but the former USC standout has shown regular home run potential. With a good matchup on Sunday, he's an option in most formats.
