High-Confidence Strikeout Picks
Dylan Cease OVER 6.5 strikeouts (+110 Hard Rock)
If anyone on today's slate falls into the high-upside strikeout category, it is Dylan Cease. Thus far in 2026, he has struck out 49 batters across 31 1/3 IP. He has struck out seven or more batters three times this season and has also racked up 12 strikeouts in two separate games.
His success comes via a plethora of pitches, as all but one in his arsenal generate at least a 25% whiff rate. He will be up against the Minnesota Twins today, who have been struggling quite a bit this season.
Over the previous two weeks, the Twins have posted a 21.7% K rate versus right-handed pitchers, which ranks 11th-worst in the league. They have also posted just an 87 wRC+ mark over that same span, which ranks them sixth-worst in the league. This should be a great spot for Cease to rack up some punchouts.
Reid Detmers OVER 6.5 strikeouts (+110 Hard Rock)
Reid Detmers is another arm on the mound Saturday who has the potential to rack up a high strikeout total. While he is nowhere near as elite as Cease above, he has struck out five or more batters in three straight starts and has racked up nine total strikeouts in two starts this season.
His success comes via the slider, curve, and changeup, as all three of these pitches generate a whiff rate north of 32%. Additionally, he ranks in the 79th percentile in terms of chase rate, so he is efficient at getting batters to swing out of the zone, which will be very helpful against this New York Mets lineup.
Over the previous two weeks, the Mets have been striking out at a clip of 21.5% versus left-handed pitching, and they are also posting just a 69 wRC+ over that same span. This should be a solid spot for Detmers at home, where he has posted an 11.3 K/9 since 2024.
