Conner Weigman in Concussion Protocol
Houston Cougars quarterback Conner Weigman (head) is in concussion protocol, according to head coach Willie Fritz. The junior signal caller exited Saturday's loss to Texas Tech early and did not return. Fritz said he is optimistic about Weigman's chances to suit up against Oklahoma State in Week 7. If he can't play, Zeon Chriss, who threw 93 yards last week, would be in line to start. Through the team's first five games, Weigman has completed just under 60% of his passes for 910 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions. He's added 148 yards and four scores on the ground. Houston suffered its first defeat of the season in Week 6 against a dominant Red Raiders team, but the program is still in the race for the Big 12 title and College Football Playoff contention.
