The Buffalo Sabres have signed goaltender Alexandar Georgiev to a one-year, $825,000 contract. The 29-year-old Russian gets another chance in the NHL despite having a nightmare in 2024-25. Georgiev posted a 15-26-4 record across 47 starts with the Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks, allowing nearly four goals (3.71) and producing a career-worst .875 save percentage. This was quite a fall from grace for Georgiev, who had led the league in wins for two straight seasons and was an All-Star in 2024. He will provide depth in goal for the Sabres behind Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Devon Levi, and Alex Lyon.--Taavi PailkRead More News
