Corey Seager Snaps Long Home Run Drought in Win
Corey Seager belted his first home run in over a month in a 6-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday. Seager's solo shot, his seventh of the year, was his first in 18 games and his lone hit in a 1-for-5 night. After smacking two HRs on May 10, Seager went on the injured list for two-plus weeks with a hamstring strain. He returned May 28 and has batted a miserable .147 (10-for-68) with three RBI since then. Thanks to his woeful stretch over the past few weeks, Seager is hitting an uncharacteristically pedestrian .232/.319/.393 in 191 plate appearances. However, Seager ranks in the league's 84th percentile or better in xBA, xSLG, xwOBA, and average exit velocity. With that in mind, the three-time 30-HR hitter is a clear candidate for positive regression. He'll face Pirates right-hander Mitch Keller on Saturday.
