Owen Caissie Extends Hit Streak to 11 Games in Four-Hit Day
Owen Caissie continued his hot stretch of hitting on Tuesday, going 4-for-4 for Triple-A Iowa, including three singles and one double. Unfortunately, Iowa was shut out in the contest, so there were no runs or RBI to be had, but his personal hit streak was extended to 11 games, and he's hit safely in 16 of the last 17. During that 17-game stretch, the former second-round draft pick has gone 23-for-61 (.377) with seven doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI, 10 runs scored, and one steal. While it has been an impressive performance, the high strikeout rate persisted throughout the 17 games, with the left-handed slugger registering a 31.0 percent K% during that span, although it was somewhat offset by an 11.3 percent BB%. The Cubs' second-ranked prospect should debut once there is an opportunity with the big league club, and with the power potential, he could be rosterable in very deep and NL-only leagues when that happens.
