Daulton Varsho Could be Close to a Return
Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is currently at the team's spring training complex in Florida and is working through a running progression, according to Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling. The hope is that Varsho will run the bases on Thursday or Friday and be close to coming off the 10-day injured list after that. The 28-year-old has been hitting and throwing since early June, so running the bases without suffering a setback is likely the last box he has to check. It sounds like the Blue Jays could consider bringing Varsho back without putting him on a minor-league rehab assignment. He's recovering from a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Varsho got a late start in 2025 after offseason shoulder surgery, which is why he's played in only 24 games. He's hit just .207 (19-for-92) but with eight home runs and 20 RBI. Varsho is the team's everyday center fielder when he's healthy.
