Giancarlo Stanton Getting Closer to Rehab Assignment
Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) would take live batting practice "over the next two weeks." Cashman thinks that Stanton is "getting really close to doing a rehab assignment thereafter." Stanton remains on the 10-day injured list with torn tendons in both of his elbows, but he's getting closer to a return and could make his 2025 debut in late May or early June, barring a setback when he starts a rehab assignment. The good news is that because the 35-year-old veteran isn't really going to be an option in the outfield this year, his rehab assignment figures to be much shorter. The five-time All-Star and former National League MVP still has plenty of power when healthy, which makes him worth stashing in fantasy leagues, but he also strikes out a lot and has trouble staying on the field.
