DJ LeMahieu Could Return Later This Week
DJ LeMahieu (calf) is set to play in rehab games at Triple-A on Tuesday and Wednesday and could be cleared to return to the majors over the weekend. The 36-year-old has been sidelined due to a calf strain but has also been dealing with a hip injury. LeMahieu has appeared in six rehab games with Double-A Somerset and held an impressive .438/.500/.688 slash line. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his progress with Triple-A as he could be cleared to make his regular-season debut later this week. Last season, LeMahieu was limited by injuries, too, and appeared in just 67 contests. During this brief stint, he struggled and held a .204/.269/.259 with just two long balls. When he does return, the veteran could carve out a significant role in the starting nine with Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) on the injured list.
